Liz Fraley Presents “Choosing Your Best Jury” Program

Liz Fraley

Liz Fraley presented a program called "Choosing Your Best Jury: Jury Research, Batson Challenges, and the 30 Minute Voir Dire" to the Waco-McLennan County Bar Association at a recent luncheon.

Liz updated the bar association on the American Bar Association's position on researching jurors and potential jurors via social media and other internet sources, adding tips on how to use the information. She then summarized recent U.S. Supreme Court case law on excluding potential jurors based on race, ethnicity, or sex, why doing so is improper, and how to handle legal challenges based on the Court's decision in Batson v. Kentucky. Liz also provided tips for practitioners on how to prepare for and question potential jurors efficiently.

She has tried more than 50 civil jury trials and currently tries cases and serves as a mediator. Liz teaches Practice Court at Baylor Law School. She has been named to D Magazine's Best Lawyers in Dallas list since 2011 in the area of "tort product & medical liability litigation: defense." Liz has been a Super Lawyer in Texas since 2004.
