Rick Bostwick, Gail Peek, and Teresa Schiller Present “Best Practices in Employment Law” Program


Rick Bostwick, Gail Peek, and Teresa Schiller recently presented a "Best Practices in Employment Law" program for clients. They discussed legal issues that can arise for employers in the following areas: (1) interviewing and hiring candidates; (2) employee handbooks; (3) performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, and terminations; (4) responding to unemployment and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission complaints; and (5) investigating employment complaints.

Rick has tried more than 100 cases. He has practiced trial and employment law for 39 years. Rick is a founding partner of Beard Kultgen Brophy Bostwick & Dickson, PLLC.

Gail's practice includes employment law, general business counseling, and commercial litigation. She has extensive client-side legal experience as a former vice-president and general counsel at Wilsonart International, Inc., which is headquartered in Temple, Texas, and part of a Fortune 500 company. Gail also practiced law at the Chicago office of Kirkland & Ellis, a globally-recognized law firm.

Teresa is a business/transaction lawyer with 22 years of legal experience focused on cost-effective problem-solving for clients. She is expanding her practice to employment law matters, including counselling and dispute resolution. Recent matters for employers have involved defending against employees' claims of wrongful termination, sexual harassment, and workplace injury, in addition to updating employee handbooks and advising about related policies.
