David Dickson & Rick Brophy Named to the 2014 Texas Super Lawyers© List by Super Lawyers, a Thomson Reuters Service

David Dickson and Rick Brophy were recently recognized in Super Lawyers Magazine, a Thomson Reuters business, by their inclusion in the 2014 Texas Super Lawyers list in the areas of Real Estate and Banking, respectively. Selection to this list includes nominations by their own peers, third party research validation across 12 key categories conducted by an attorney-led research team, and attorney evaluations. Only 5% of attorneys in Texas are selected to Super Lawyers.

David Dickson has been representing business and individual clients for 35 years primarily in real estate, bankruptcy, commercial litigation, estate planning and probate matters. Mr. Dickson regularly represents parties in transactions involving the purchase and sale of business entities, complex business transactions, negotiates bankruptcy and business-related settlements and represents several banking institutions.

Since 1983, Mr. Dickson has been certified in Commercial, Residential and Farm & Ranch Real Estate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, one of only 57 attorneys in the State of Texas to hold all three of these certifications. He also serves as general counsel for the Waco Association of Realtors and the Heart of Texas Apartment Owners Association. Mr. Dickson is an adjunct professor at Baylor Law School in the real estate area. Mr. Dickson is a former member of the governing council of the Real Estate, Probate and Trust law Section of the State Bar of Texas.

Rick Brophy has significant experience in matters affecting financial institutions, construction companies and other businesses. His practice includes mergers and acquisitions work, drafting and negotiating complex governance and other agreements, formation of entities, drafting construction related agreements, and providing general legal advice to local businesses. Mr. Brophy has served as an adjunct professor at Baylor Law School for 25 years, teaching banking law for 20 years and mergers and acquisitions for the last five years. Mr. Brophy speaks regularly at the meetings of Independent Bankers Association of Texas and State Bar of Texas. and has provided numerous speeches on bank compliance regulations, including Regulation O, Lending Limit and Section 23A. Mr. Brophy also serves as general counsel to the Central Texas Associated General Contractors.
