Rick Brophy is the President of Beard Kultgen Brophy Bostwick & Dickson, PLLC and has significant experience in matters affecting financial institutions, construction companies and other businesses. His practice includes mergers and acquisitions work, drafting and negotiating complex governance and other agreements, formation of entities, drafting construction related agreements, and providing general legal advice to local businesses. Mr. Brophy has served as an adjunct professor at Baylor Law School for 32 years, teaching banking law for 19 years and mergers and acquisitions for the last 13 years. Mr. Brophy speaks regularly at the meetings of Independent Bankers Association of Texas and State Bar of Texas and has provided numerous speeches on bank compliance regulations, including Regulation O, Lending Limit and Section 23A. Mr. Brophy also serves as general counsel to the Central Texas Associated General Contractors.

In addition to serving his clients on legal matters, Mr. Brophy is extensively involved in the local community, having served or currently serving as Chairman of the Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce, President of Waco Rotary Club, President of the Baylor Law Alumni Association, President of the Waco Business League, and formerly as coach to eight-time Little League Softball World Series Champions.

  • Former editor of a bank compliance manual that included summaries of compliance regulations and compliance checklists; for a period of approximately ten years, spoke at three to four seminars a year on bank compliance regulations; including Regulation O, Lending Limit, Section 23A
