Marcy-Wilkins-Wins-Pro-Bono-Award

Marcy Wilkins recently won a 2016 Outstanding Pro Bono Advocate Award from the Waco-McLennan County Young Lawyers Association.

Volunteering more than a hundred hours, Marcy was recognized for outstanding service to the community. She and other lawyers participated in the association’s yearlong Pro Bono Challenge, contributing 2,450 hours to help those in need.

Marcy’s efforts included a team effort at Beard Kultgen to assist a group of pro bono clients. Rick Brophy, David Dickson, and Marcy are helping six non-profit organizations to defend against a bankruptcy trustee’s attempts to reclaim certain charitable donations made by a debtor in a bankruptcy case.

Beard Kultgen is dedicated to supporting the communities that it serves. Firm attorneys frequently volunteer in pro bono, charitable, civic, and educational initiatives. The Firm also is invested in the revitalization of downtown Waco with its newly renovated downtown office. In these and other ways, Beard Kultgen — which has assisted clients throughout Texas for more than 50 years – strives to better serve the community.
